Currently S6 Pilates offers Private Pilates sessions and Semi Private Pilates classes in person.
In person: Private Pilates sessions are 1:1 (or 2:1 for duets) 55 minute sessions customized to meet your body, goals, and needs on any given day. Clients have access to full range of equipment and apparatus in the studio, including reformer, cadillac, wunda chair, guillotine, barrels, etc.
Semi Private Pilates classes are max of 6 people (in-person), keeping them small enough for each person to get individual attention. Participants will be guided on the reformer and/or tower to receive a challenging, dynamic, and safe workout leaving them feeling toned, stronger, and walking taller.
Online: Some classes are available online in addition to in person.

Currently there are no official regulations on the term “Pilates,” meaning that anyone can call themselves a Pilates instructor, and anything can be called a Pilates class. Someone could take a weekend workshop with no actual connection to the original teachings of Joe Pilates and be a “certified Pilates instructor,” or they could go thru years of intensive training by trainers carrying a direct lineage to Joe’s teachings, gaining experience practicing many hours of apprentice teaching, and regular continuing education and still also be called… you guessed it: a “certified Pilates Instructor.”
However, the difference matters.
Pilates as it was originally intended is far more complex than a bunch of randomly sequenced exercises on strange looking equipment. The Method of Pilates is an entire system of movement, passed down from creator Joe Pilates through a direct lineage of training to his students and theirs.Chris is what’s called a “2nd generation” instructor, meaning that his mentors, Romana Kryzanowska and Jay Grimes, both learned directly from Joe himself. Every instructor at S6 Pilates has a clear path of lineage directly to Joe Pilates, and an intensive training background to go with it.
In the original Pilates system, there is a reason certain exercises go in specific sequences, or why you may need to do an exercise on the Reformer before trying it on the Wunda Chair, for example. In the original Pilates Method, the different apparatus and matwork are designed to support and complement one another. There is an extraordinary amount of intention and attention to detail that goes into constructing a session for each individual depending on their body’s needs on any given day.
This is why our class sizes will always stay small. This is why rooms are well-lit and there is not music blaring or someone on a microphone telling everyone to push harder -
because the true work of Pilates is about tuning IN, not tuning out.
Now… can you get your sweat on in those other classes? Absolutely! And they can be so fun, without a doubt. And S6 Pilates is where you learn HOW to stay safe and move well in any other group class, or physical activity, that brings you joy in your life.
